Design Tips
Looking to enhance your garden? Here are some expert design tips to help you make the most of your outdoor space.

It's so important to consider creating a sense of space and depth. Many gardens typically feature all their elements around the edges, which can inadvertently make the garden feel smaller. Instead, consider integrating design features 'into the garden' itself. You might be surprised by the depth and expansiveness this technique can lend to your outdoor space.
Marking Out - once you have your design, setting this out in the garden, is a key stage of the transformation process. My top tips are:
1. Invest some time into this stage - don't rush!
2. Work from a scaled drawing.
3. Use line marking spray, string lines, landscapers square, even hosepipes or sand, to mark out your design.
4. Use posts or poles to represent key features (a signature tree for example), this will help you see the design in 3D.
5. Does the 2D design work in reality? If not, don't be afraid to alter things before committing.
Have you got a design that needs marking out?
