A Splash of Winter Colour

Winter can be a bleak and dull time in the garden, especially if you have not planned for 'winter show' from your plants (bulbs, bark, stems, evergreens). One easy way of addressing this is through pots. A sensory garden I have been working on shows how vibrant they can be.

Here, the vibrancy of the pots is matched by the complimentary tones of the Heuchera's - 2 varieties in this picture matching the lime green and the pink pots.

The Skimmia and grasses in the pots and the complimentary perennials, will mean that this area will provide an all year round colourful display.

In this garden, the pots are also complemented by some matching bug houses - providing more of that sensory interest to the overall design.

The wooden pot holders (awaiting a lick of vibrant paint), will be for visitors to pot up a small plant that will eventually be planted in the garden.
